Swirling script

This article discusses a Portland-based artist (Rip City woot woot) that works in lettering. Unlike the artist that we discussed in class yesterday, her works seem to not have words with any significant meaning and it made me think of the distinction between designer and artist. I feel like her work is something that would be nice as wall art but without the extra meaning in the text, I'm not sure I would find it very significant. Thoughts?
