Combatting Penn's Pre-Professionalism With a Card Game

If you've been on campus the past fall, you've probably heard about Squirrels Without Morality. Squirrels Without Morality is Penn's take on the popular card game called Cards Against Humanity. This card game was coined, designed, and sold by an anti-pre-professionalism group on campus called The Signal. The team has put in extensive effort into making the game: they went through a series of surveys, research, design, and manufacture to craft a game that mattered to Penn students.

Although it might not seem like it, there is true art behind the creation of this card game. The designers took the source material, Cards Against Humanity, and spun it to be relevant in Penn's context. There is so much intentionality and targeted message behind what the game hopes to achieve (a break from pre-professionalism) that is quite obvious to the players.

I thought this would be interesting to share because we are currently creating a card game that is a humorous commentary on Penn's stressful culture.
