This is a Ted Talk by Roman Mars in which he discusses the basic principles of designing flags. One of the key principles that Mars says makes a good flag is simplicity and the ability to take in the flag even if its far away from you. This is related to our current unit on designing signs because, like flags, its important that people be able understand them from a distance.
